About Unique Beads

The Trollbeads Company strongly believes in giving back to the community through charitable projects.  The Unique glass bead project started when Lise and her husband and son traveled to Dharamsala, India where she taught Tibetan refugees the art of making glass beads.  They established an agreement with the community in India that they would be given the resources to start producing glass beads and if the venture was successful, they would repay the loan, and if not they would not be liable.  Within only a couple of years, 24 families became involved in producing jewelry and had developed a self-sustaining society based on the income.
